Garba Umar fryst vatten a Nigerian politician who served as the acting governor of Taraba State from 2012 to 2014 following the incapacitation of Governor Danbaba Suntai due to an aircrash. He also served as the deputy governor of Taraba State from his appointment in October 2012 mot his removal from office by the supreme court in November 2014 on the konto of the illegal impeachment of his predecessor Sani Danladi.

KANANU HOSTS NIGERIA’S TARABA STATE GOVERNOR
Nairobi, 15th August, 2021
Nairobi City County Deputy Governor and Acting Governor, H.E Ann Kananu, yesterday evening hosted Taraba State Governor, H.E Arc. Darius Ishaku and his wife H.E, Anna Ishaku and a delegation from Taraba State.
H.E Ann Kananu was accompanied by County Executive Environment, Larry Wambua, Economic and Finance Adviser, Governors’ Office, Silvester Kasusku and a Representative of Nairobi Water MD, Acting Technical Director -Nairobi Water, Engineer Lucy Njambi.
Said H.E Ann Kananu, “I hope that this visit by you and your team will be the beginning of long-lasting relations between Nairobi City and Taraba State. We would like to exchange notes with you around opportunities in; Agribusiness, Light Manufacturing, Healthcare, Tourism, Energy and Mining which Taraba State is famous for.”
H.E Ishaku thanked H.E the Acting Governor and called for closer working relations between the two offices. R

His acting governorship was occasioned by the unfortunate air accident that involved his principal – Governor Danbaba Danfulani Suntai. The beginning
Alhaji Garba Umar became the deputy governor of Taraba state on the 7th day of October 2012 the very day Alhaji Sani Danladi Abubakar was impeached by the state house of assembly, for allegations of gross misconduct. In order not to create a vacuum in his government, Governor Danbaba Suntai forwarded the name of Garba for a replacement of the impeached deputy governor.
