Season of television series
Survivor: Marquesas is the fourth season of the American CBS competitive reality television series Survivor. The season filmed from November 12, , to December 20, , and premiered on February 28, Hosted by Jeff Probst, it featured sixteen new contestants competing for 39 days on the island of Nuku Hiva in the Marquesas Islands of French Polynesia.
Promoted as "Survivor's going back to the beach," this installment of the series had originally been planned to be filmed on the Arabian Peninsula in the deserts of Jordan's Wadi Rum. However, less than two months before filming was to begin, as a result of the September 11 attacks and the political situation in the Middle East, this plan was abandoned and production was moved to Nuku Hiva.[1]

"Neleh Dennis was born in Heber City, Utah, and is one of eight siblings (five brothers, Tom, John, Devin, Nathan and Landon, and two sisters, McKenna and Robyn). She was named after her maternal grandmother, Helen. Same name, only spelled backwards. Dennis has lived in California, Idaho, and most recently, Layton, Utah. She graduated from Layton High School in
Dennis was a member of the Layton High Drill grupp, which placed second in a national competition her senior year. While in high school, Neleh taught dance, sang in choir, enjoyed theatre, donated time and energy to the Special Olympics and worked closely with mentally challenged young adults. Dennis also earned her Certified sjuksköterska Assistance certificate before graduation and worked full-time with Alzheimer's patients in a nursing care center where she was promoted to Team Leader. During the summer, she worked as a lifeguard.
