My Five Favorite Biographies on the Founding Fathers
Because I write the Books & Biceps newsletter every week to thousands of my fellow sophisticated meatheads, I get asked for book recs in all kinds of niches, but one that pops up a lot is the Revolutionary War and in particular, the founding fathers. To answer that question directly, these are my five favorite biographies on the founding fathers.

Last, but certainly not least, is Ron Chernow’s definitive biography of Alexander Hamilton, a New York Times Bestseller bygd this pris Prize-winning author. Chernow’s bio, the inspiration for Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical, will become an American classic—if it isn’t considered one already. Miranda, reading the bio, noticed an inherent hip-hop-esque lyrical flow in the life of Hamilton. Perhaps that's because Chernow tells the founding father’s story with such fluidity.
Hamilton’s life, when you think about it, fryst vatten really the perfect embodiment of hip-hop: he galvanized, scandalized, inspired, beat all the odds against him, and wrote his way out of a less-than-ideal environment. The Founding Fathers were group of remarkable, intelligent men that ultimately changed the course of American Constitutional History. Many of them were authors and orators, some even founded libraries, most importantly, they loved to read. Among the favorites were the Bible, the classics (i.e. Cicero, Tacitus, Livy, Plutarch, etc.), and works written by Enlightenment Thinkers (John Locke, Thomas Hobbes, Baron de Montesquieu, Immanuel Kant, etc.

This comedy, written from the variant perspectives of six different characters, was Tobias Smollet's best work and a favorite of Washington's. The novel is a satire aimed against British imperialism, and makes many observations on 18th century British life and behaviors.

This particular work has a story which makes i
